MSFS uses:

• Community/: User-installed custom aircraft (FlyByWire A320, PMDG 737), airport scenery packs, and airliner liveries.
• Official/: Base game aircraft, world updates, and Marketplace DLC packages.

Installing custom high-detail airports, photogrammetry cities, and airliner livery packs easily expands the Community folder to 50 GB, 150 GB, or 300 GB+.

Can You Delete Community Packages?

• Deleting uninstalls add-ons: Deleting a folder inside Community will remove that specific aircraft or airport mod from Flight Simulator.
• Base game stays safe: Deleting Community add-ons will NOT uninstall Microsoft Flight Simulator itself.
• Fixes MSFS crash on loading screen: Deleting corrupted mods from Community is the top fix when MSFS freezes on the initial loading screen.

How to Safely Clean Up MSFS Community Folder

Method 1: Delete Specific Unused Mods in File Explorer
